RAGB gets new name and image over haul

The Restaurateurs Association of Great Britain (RAGB)has shortened its name, appointed a new chief executive and come up with a fresh logo.

It will now be called the Restaurant Association. New chief executive Ian McKerracher has worked in the restaurant business for 20 years, including four years as an Egon Ronay inspector, plus management stints at several major restaurants including Harveys in London. This year he was organiser of the Carlton London restaurant awards.

Michael da Costa, chairman of the association, said: "Ian has many contacts within the industry, which will prove invaluable in helping to increase membership."
