Relaunch assists Hilton revpar rise
Hilton Group has reported an 11.7% increase in revenue per available room (revpar) during the three months to 30 September.
The rise was even steeper in the UK, where revpar soared by 13.6%. The group put this down to the benefits of its refurbishment programme and the relaunch of the Hilton brand.
London performed particularly strongly, with revpar up by 17.4%. September's fuel crisis held back the performance of some provincial hotels.
Since the end of September, Hilton hotels in the UK have suffered from late cancellations as a result of the floods and bad weather.
In Continental Europe, revpar increased by 15.7%, while in the Middle East and Africa Hilton said performance at its hotels "showed some signs of weakness".
In the Americas revpar was up overall.
