Rhodes ends talks over Lygon Arms

Gary Rhodes has ended discussions with the Savoy Group about running the restaurant at its Lygon Arms hotel.

Rhodes had been holding negotiations with the hotel in Broadway, Worcestershire, for several months.

Last week he said the talks had not resulted in a deal.

Barry Hancox, general manager of the hotel, said it had this week appointed Robert Gleeson as its new head chef. He will join the 61-bedroom hotel, which has a 95-seat restaurant, the Great Hall, on 7 September.

Gleeson is currently head chef at the Lodge and Spa at Inchydoney Island in West Cork, Ireland. He will replace Adrian Jones, who left as head chef of the Lygon Arms in April.
