Scade is new chairman of Restaurant Association

The Restaurant Association has elected Nick Scade as its new chairman.

He replaces Andrew Guy of City Centre Restaurants, who is retiring after just more than two years in the role. Scade's appointment takes effect immediately.

Scade has worked in the hotel and restaurant trade for more than 30 years. He has been chairman of his own company, New Mill Restaurants, since 1985 and is a co-founder, together with Roy Ackerman of the Restaurant Factory, a restaurant and F&B consultancy.

He has been a committee member and treasurer of the Restaurant Association since 1986.

The associaton is currently in merger talks with the British Hospitality Association.
