Schwabs scotch sale rumours

Annie Schwab has denied a rumour that she and her husband Germain are looking to sell their two-Michelin-starred restaurant, Winteringham Fields in Lincolnshire.

The rumour suggested that Claude Bosi, owner of the one-Michelin-starred Hibiscus restaurant in Ludlow, Shropshire, was interested in buying it.

Both Annie and Bosi's wife Claire said this was not true.

Annie insisted the rumour could not be further from the truth and said she and Germain were enjoying a particularly successful year.

Last month, for example, Germain won the Chef of the year award at the 2002 Cateys.

Annie said: "We have no intention of selling. Germain is still full of enthusiasm and as long as he is enthusiastic we will continue."

Schwab said bookings for tables were being taken months in advance, with weekend bookings already secured for the end of October and early November.
