Skills shortage is a problem all over the world

Professionalism in the hospitality industry was the subject of the first international HCIMA conference and exhibition.

The three-day event, held in Ghana, Africa, attracted 250 delegates from Europe, Australia and Africa.

David Wood, HCIMA chief executive, said: "We learnt that the problems the hospitality industry faces, such as the enormous lack of skills, are the same throughout the world no matter how sophisticated society is."
