Soccer success to boost hotel takings

The De Vere hotel at Bolton Wanderers' football ground is expecting to cash in on the team's promotion to the Premiership.

Roland Ayling, general manager of De Vere Whites hotel and the Reebok conference and exhibition centre, estimates Bolton's promotion will add nearly £20,000 in takings for the hotel on match days. Nineteen bedrooms and the 60-seat Reflections restaurant overlook the pitch.

Ayling estimates the 23 Reflections pitch-view seats will sell for £150 a seat on match days. Thirteen of the bedrooms will convert into corporate hospitality boxes selling for £1,000-£1,200 including food on match days.
