Soho House eyes hotel options in London and LA

The company behind celebrity hangout Soho House is considering expanding its hotel operations.

The privately owned group opened its first Soho House-branded hotel in Manhattan last year and is understood to be looking at opening more, including one in London and one in Los Angeles.

Soho House, which launched in 1995 with the opening of a private members' club targeting media and film professionals in London's Soho, spent $16m (£8.7m) on its Manhattan hotel and is likely to spend about $25m (£13.6m) each on any new hotels it opens.

The hotel in New York features 24 "playroom" suites, a cinema, and the Cowshed spa.

Soho House, which also owns the 28-bedroom Babington House hotel near Frome, Somerset, would not comment further on its development plans.
