TONNARELLI are long, thin strands of pasta, similar in size to spaghetti but square in shape.
This dried egg pasta joins iB Food's existing range of 37 pastas.
As with all iB Food pasta, Tonnarelli is made with seven eggs to 1kg of durum wheat to give a superior flavour and texture. Unlike dried wheat pasta, tonnarelli stops cooking as soon as it is strained and is ready to serve in minutes. It remains al dente for longer and provides an excellent yield. It can sit on the hot plate for up to three hours and be reheated to order. On average, 100g of dried egg pasta can increase to 240g when cooked.
Tonnarelli can be served with a smooth sauce such as Walnut and Five Cheese Sauce of Pomodorina with Mascarpone, both from iB Food.
