Tall storeys

The recently opened Gran Hotel Bali in the Spanish coastal resort of Benidorm is the tallest modern hotel in Europe.

The 52-storey, 438-bedroom hotel is owned by Bali Hotels. It is 186m high and took 15 years to build.

Only Moscow's 1950s-built 1,017-bedroom Hotel Ukraine, at 198m, is ranked taller in Europe. It has 30 storeys but is taller than the Gran Hotel Bali because it has an architectural spire on its roof.
