Time to get the ball rolling
If you want to dispel the feelings of doom and gloom that are common at this time of the year, how about booking a ticket for BallArena? Taking place on 24 February at ExCel in London during the week of Hotelympia, BallArena is a ball to support the industry's charities Hospitality Action and Springboard UK.
The event also aims to promote the industry as an exciting area to work in and attract support from the country's politicians and other influencial figures.
A special menu has been created for the event by four top chefs and the evening's entertainment includes a live band, a casino and dancing. More than 1,300 guests are expected to attend.
In addition to buying tickets, organisations can support the event by becoming a partner, which means donating products, people or services for the night.
