Two-star Blinis goes on market

Blinis, the two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Bath, is for sale.

Chef Martin Blunos opened Blinis in November last year, two months after he shut his two-starred Lettonie restaurant in the city.

His stars were transferred from Lettonie to Blinis, in Argyle Street.

Blinis is run by Blunos but owned by Sebastian and Philippa Hughes, owners of the three-strong hotel group Chase Hotels.

Blunos is also group executive chef of Chase Hotels.

Philippa said she and her husband were selling Blinis in order to focus on their hotels: the 18-bedroom Dukes in Bath; the 18-bedroom Holne Chase on Dartmoor, Devon, and the 17-bedroom St Olaves in Exeter, Devon.

They also own a serviced apartments business, 21 The Mint, in Exeter.

Philippa said: "We have consolidated our position and we have decided that Blinis, a very individual restaurant, no longer fits with the group."

She said that after the sale Blunos would alternate his time between the restaurants at the three hotels. Blunos was unavailable for comment.

Blinis has a 32-seat restaurant and a 12-seat café-bar.

Christie and Co is the agent for the sale.
