Bonsyde changes hands
The Bonsyde Hotel in Linlithgow, West Lothian, has been sold for close to its asking price of £275,000. The property, formerly known as the Earl O'Moray Hotel, has seven bedrooms, a 50-seat restaurant and nine acres of land. Local agent Bruce & Co handled the sale.
Glamorgan sale
Country house hotel and restaurant Llechwen Hall in Llanfabon, Mid-Glamorgan, has changed hands for the first time since the business was established 12 years ago. The 20-bedroom property went for close to its asking price of £875,000. The purchase also includes six acres of grounds and a three-bedroom owner's house. Christie & Co was the agent.
Angel on the Horizon
The freehold of the Angel Inn, in Stoke-by-Nyland on the Essex-Suffolk border, has been sold to Horizon Inns for close to £1.1m. The pub, which also has six letting bedrooms, has been operated by Richard Wright and Peter Smith since 1986. Christie & Co was the agent.
Luminar adds three
Luminar, operator of over 240 late night venues, bars and restaurants across the UK, has bought three new venues in Edinburgh and Tamworth, Staffordshire, for a total of £3m. The Subway in Lothian Road, Edinburgh, is the company's second site in the city. The Tamworth sites, the Embassy and BJ's Bar are Luminar's first in the town.
Lancashire restaurant of the year sold
The Spread Eagle Hotel, in Sawley, Lancashire, has been sold for very close to its £375,000 asking price. The pub, which has an 80-seat restaurant, was sold by Lakeland Traditional Taverns, who bought it in 1997. It was voted Restaurant of the Year by Lancashire Life for 1999/2000. The new owner is first-timer Nigel Williams. Christie & Co was the agent.
