Upset over booking request
In his efforts to book a table for six at Pétrus, Roger Wood asked his staff to arrange a table. The request went to Albert Hampson, AA business manager for hotel services. Hampson agreed, but did not enjoy the task, as this e-mail indicated.
"I had to use my personal influence to get this booking for a table of six," Hampson wrote. "I am sorry, but I do not intend to do this sort of thing again, as it makes me personally look silly and weakens our position within the industry generally."
