Welsh weather bumps up hotel figures
The exceptionally good summer weather has helped to give occupancy in Welsh hotels a big boost.
The latest figures show that bedroom occupancy was up eight percentage points in August 1995, compared to the same month last year. Bedspace occupancy was up six percentage points.
Pannell Kerr Forster, which compiles the figures on behalf of the Wales Tourist Board, said hoteliers in the country were experiencing some of their best performances for at least five years.
The weather and a rise in overseas tourism have both all helped. While all sizes of hotel improved their occupancies, those with over 50 bedrooms had the best increases.
