With suppliers from more than 45 countries, IFE is a real world beater

All the fun of the fair At this year's IFE exhibition, visitors will find suppliers from 45 countries, which will be invaluable for sourcing new recipe ideas and ingredients, from around the world.

There will be over 40 national group pavilions from countries including America, Japan, Italy and India. First time exhibitors include Brazil, Malaysia, Israel, Cuba, Morocco and Turkey.

The group stand from Cyprus will see companies such as Famagusta Macaroni Factory, Lisko Foodstuff and Lounic Confectionery exhibiting a variety of local produce, including sweets, wines, spirits, fruit juices, pastas and pastries. In the cheese and dairy sector, a further ten companies from Cyprus will be showcasing locally produced halloumi, feta, anari, goats' cheeses, yoghurts, cream and ice cream.

For the first time, 21 companies will be exhibiting in the Malaysian pavilion, showcasing a vast range of exotic and authentic food and drink products. These include ranges of curry and stir-fry sauces from Exotic Culinaries and Care Food Industries; traditional Asian pastry products from Ben Fortune Pastry Manufacturing and Haewaytan Cake House. Authentic spices, herbs and seasonings will be found on the Gaban Spice Manufacturing stand, while fruit flavoured carbonated drinks, teas, waters and juices will be on show from Spritzer and Jeenhuat Foodstuffs Industries.

IFE 2003 will also see the largest presence from the USA. Supported by the US Department of Agriculture, the pavilion will feature over 25 companies, such as Essen Nutrition launching a new range of Frozen Indian Dinners and Pastas, while American Indian Foods will be introducing traditional bread mixes and meats.

Over 30 companies will be exhibiting in the German Pavilion with ranges of confectionery, snacks, meats and dairy produce, while on the Spanish Pavilion olives, oils, cakes and biscuits, wines, tapas and chorizo will be featured. Several Bulgarian companies will also be introducing ranges of canned and processed goods.

There will be an exciting programme of events in the Innovation Zone. Roz Denny will be demonstrating German food, while Chef Wan from Malaysia will take visitors through authentic recipes.

Belfield Farms, 271 will be exhibiting with its trade partners Eurofreez and Begro on stand SF2624. New frozen potato products will include mash lids and pellets in a wide range of shapes, sizes and flavours, under the Eurofreez brand. Also new is the Cream of the Crop Mash and Carrot & Swede Mash which are also available in own label, as well as chips. Also on show will be frozen vegetables from Begro.

Fletchers Bakeries Limited, 272, will be exhibiting Kara Sandwich Softies, Mushroom-style Muffins and Custard Ball Doughnuts, as well as the new Thaw ‘n' Serve Mini French and Petit Pain, under La Boulangerie Fran‡aise label.

The Wild Blueberry Association of North America, 273, in the Canadian Pavilion will be demonstrating the healthy benefits of blueberries and how they can be used in a variety of dishes such as muffins, flapjacks and cookies.

MDC Foods, 274, will be unveiling the new Steam Express range of frozen vegetables. These vegetables can be steamed in the microwave for about five or eight minutes, depending on the pack size.

Varieties include Green Vegetable Medley, Italian Mix, Country Mix, Expres Fine Peas and Extra Fine Green Beans. Available in 300g packs.

Burts Potato Chips, 275, will be able to sample hand cooked crisps cooked in sunflower oil on stand no NJ1922. The crisps are packed in clear bags and the name of the Burts fryer who fried the chips can be found on the back of the packet!

Alfresco, 276, will be launching three new drinks on stand 4916. ‘G' is a lightly carbonated drink, made of juices and Damiana - an aphrodisiac stimulant. What's more, it also contains Gingko, a tonic to give customers a boost. It can also be mixed with vodka or Sambucca. Available in 250ml cans, packed in cases of 24. Quattro Stagioni is a healthy drink containing up to 20 per cent of pure fruit juice with no artificial colourings, flavours or sweeteners. Varieties include Baked Spiced Apple, Orange and Passionfruit, Orange, Carrot and Lemon and Pink Grapefruit and Cranberry.

Available in 500ml bottles, packed in cases of 24. Zanzu is a range of iced teas including lemon and peach and green tea with mango. Available in 330ml bottles, packed in cases of 24.

CMA, 277, (the marketing organisation for German food and drink), will offer a one stop shop for visitors for a wide variety of German food and drink. This includes chicken products from Delta Foods such as Malou Very, Very, Very, Very Hot Wings, French Garden Mini Fillets or Chicken Fillets Piccata. Die Thuringer Fleisch-und Wurstspezianlitaten will be showing German sausages such as Rostbratwurst and Peppermeat, while Golden Acre Dairy Foods will be sampling baked cheese specialities such as Feta Cubes, Mini-Brie Wedges and Mini Baked Camembert.

Frank Dale Foods, 278, will be launching three new Panizza Rustica snacks. These products are encased in savoury Biscotti Pastry, with a variety of fillings such as Tuscan Ricotta & Spinach & Provencal Roast Peppers and Black Olives and Andalusian Chorizo and Potato.

"Tuna Melt", the latest addition to the Penorita range of baguettes, will be introduced at IFE by Arkady Craigmillar, 279. It can be stored frozen and baked off in just a few minutes. Mini versions of Goldfrost Doughnuts will also be unveiled at the show.

L'Aquila, 280, will be showing the Sorriso Preserved Vegetable Range, packed in aluminium pouches. This style of packaging offers over a two year shelf life as an ambient product. The vegetables include Champignon Mushrooms, Chanterelle Mushrooms and Artichoke Heart Quarters. Available in vegetable oil, olive oil, vegetable stock or brine. Pack sizes are from 700g to 4kg.

Taste nachos with Tex-Mex fillings such as Fajita Chicken, Jalapeno Cheese and spicy Taco Beef on the Discovery Foods, 281, stand - NE1644. Each flavour can be served individually or mix all three on the plate for an unusual combo platter. Also on the stand will be the new Texas turnover "street eater" snack kit. The kit contains 24 Discovery 10in Wraps, 48 Hot and Spicy natural chicken fillets and 24 take away sleeves. A vegetarian option is available using Quorn.

Carlini Limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur distributed by Lemon Liqueur Ltd, 282, traditionally served as an after liqueur served ice cold. It also makes a refreshing drink poured over ice or mixed with lemonade or tonic. It can also be used as a base for cocktails, ice cream, sorbets, cakes and desserts.

Gourmet culinary concentrated stocks will be showcased on the Porters, 283, stand - NG1613. These are in ten flavours including demi-glazed stock, aromatic fish flavour, demi-glazed seafood stock and vegetarian, as well as Provencale and Mediterranean. Available in 500g jars.

Get ready for Christmas by visiting the Euro Foods Ltd, 284, stand, where it will be showing a selection from its 150 Christmas products. These include Vialetto Italian cookies; Fabbri fruits in syrups and coffee syrups; Sapore Panforte Italian cake and Motta Panettone.

Dawn Foods, 285, will be showing its new frozen Donut range featuring yeast raised table cut American donuts. They are available in a plain ring ready for finishing or already sugared and ready to sell. Simply defrost as required. Also new will be Cinnamon Whirls with sticky cinnamon filling and finished with white icing, which simply require defrosting.

Two new flavours of Rani, 286, the British Asian juice drink, will be launched on its stand. Rani Peach and Rani Pineapple Float contain 20 per cent fruit juice and real fruit pieces. The drinks contain vitamin C, with no artificial flavours or sweeteners.

RH Packaging, 287, will be demonstrating the new Tube machine. This dispenses a laminated tube and when it is cut off, it heat seals to make a pre-formed bag. This produced bags of any length or size on a reel.

The British Frozen Food Federation, 288, will be the focal point in the frozen zone at IFE 2003. The BFFF team will be on hand throughout the show on stand number SH2824 to co-ordinate activities and help you find the products you are looking for from among the exhibiting BFFF members.

Arla Foodservice, 289, a first time exhibitor, will be showcasing its Lurpak flavoured butters in Garlic, Mediterranean Herbs and Lime and Chilli. Other products include a range of speciality blue cheeses.

Taste of the West, 420, the regional speciality food and drink group for the South West of England will be launching its latest directory. The tenth edition contains over 200 food and drink producers from the six counties of the South West. Sections cover bakery, beverages, confectionery, dairy, fish, fresh produce, meat, preserves, chutneys and snacks.

Celebrity chef Raymond Blanc will be visiting the Florette, 421, stand and creating gourmet salads on the stand using Florette products. At the exhibition, Florette will unveil new look packaging and recipe mixes for Florette's Snack Bowl Range in several varieties - Caesar, Italian, Sweet and Crunchy.

Taste Gressingham Duck by visiting Green Label's, 423, stand 2213, where development chef Vernon Blackmore will be preparing dishes during the show. The company is launching three ready-made meals: duck confit; oriental-style duck stir fry with black bean sauce (above); and shredded crispy duck with pancakes

Keep it cool with the new range of cool boxes on display at the CaterLink, 424, stand. Made by WAECO International, there are seven "CF" boxes (CF stands for Compressor Fridge), which range in capacity from 18 to 108 litres. These cool boxes are great for transporting small deliveries of food.

A whole host of Spanish products will be on display at the C & D stand, 425. These will include Spanish cheese including cow, goat and sheep's milk cheese, olive oil, tinned vegetables including white asparagus, tinned and marinated seafood, as well as coffee and pulses.

IDB Deutschland & Co, 426, will be demonstrating the advantages of Butter Rosettes on its stand. From breakfast to banquets, Butter Rosettes are quick and convenient and can be served straight from the fridge.

New transparent food packs will be on display at the GPI, 427, stand SD2442. There will be new lidded packs for hot "food to go", which can be used for hot meals and microwave heating.

Precooked Chargrilled Turkey Fillets and Coated Turkey Escalopes are two new products on the Bernard Matthews stand, 428. The fillets are available in a choice of sizes.

King Asia Foods, 429, on stand SG2633 will be introducing several new products including King Prawn in Batter, Szechuan Noodles, Yung Chow Fried Rice and Duck Pancake Rolls.

The Packaged Ice Company, 430, (stand 2523) will be showing the convenience of pre-packed ice cubes. Its "Party Ice" product can be used for bulk requirements.

Danmare International, 431, will be exhibiting a wide range of authentic Italian breads made by Agritech in Italy.
