Linen for hire

Several months ago Sketchley launched its Silver Linen Service to allow companies to hire top-quality linen with a built-in cleaning and replacement programme.

Take-up of this service has been rapid, with around 150,000 linen items currently being processed a week.

At the exhibition Sketchley will introduce a new development within linen service, details of which are being kept under wraps until the show. The company will only say that it bypasses the entire manual packing and unpacking process that linen formerly went through as it travelled from laundry to hotel room.

To accompany the launch, C&I Division will introduce Sumapilot, a kitchen hygiene procedure tailor-made to suit each kitchen, to control and improve hygiene and bring it into line with all key hygiene regulations.

In addition, the division will show the Sanctif bathroom hygiene programme, combining effective environmentally friendly products with thorough bathroom hygiene procedures.

Disposables

On the Plastico stand, the catering disposables company is offering visitors to World of Hospitality a free bar safety consultation.

Following its backing of government efforts to improve levels of safety within public bars earlier on this year, the company has published a booklet containing research carried out by Surrey University into violent incidents in public bars - currently running at around 20,000 incidents per year, many of them serious.

The booklet offers advice aimed at reducing or minimising the damage caused by incidents, such as using plastic tumblers and ashtrays as opposed to glass. The booklet will be available on the stand and there will be someone on hand to advise on how to make bars safer.
