Cairo opening delay

Construction delays have put the opening of Marriott's 355-bedroom hotel in Cairo, Egypt, back until next year. JW Mirage City Marriott Resort was due to open in September but the company has now confirmed it will open in spring 2003.

Hilton's Paris deal

Hilton International has signed a management contract for a 463-bedroom hotel in Paris. The deal, with developer Société Immobilière et Hotelière du Parc Monceau, will bring the number of hotels managed by Hilton in Paris to five. Construction is due for completion early in 2004 and will include eight meeting rooms and two floors dedicated to "executive" level bedrooms.

Boulud the second

Daniel Boulud, whose food at Daniel in New York has been described in Zagat's guide as the best French cooking in the city, is opening a second Café Boulud, in Palm Beach, Florida, in May. The new restaurant will be in the Brazilian Court hotel, a 1920s Spanish-style building which is being renovated. It will have 130 seats, with a bar and lounge with a further 25.
