Millennium de luxe
Millennium Hotels and Resorts has opened its first four-star de luxe hotel in France - the Millennium Concorde Paris. On Boulevard Haussmann, the refurbished 1920s building has 163 rooms and suites, 600sq m of meeting and conference space, plus brasserie and bar with covered terrace. The four-star de luxe brand was first introduced by the group in New York in 1995.
Starwood's paradise
Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has taken over management of the former Grand hotel in the Bahamas and rebranded it the Sheraton Grand Resort Paradise Island. The 340-room, 14-storey hotel is located on the beach at Nassau. It is the first Caribbean hotel in Starwood's Sheraton portfolio.
W for peninsula
The Peninsula Group is to open the 370-room Peninsula Bangkok hotel at the beginning of November. The 39-storey property is built in a "W" shape on the west bank of the Chaophraya River in Thonburi, close to the Sathorn Bridge.
Managing an island
Rockresorts International has announced that it is to manage the exclusive Jumby Bay Island - a 300-acre Caribbean island property in Antigua. The second property in the company's portfolio, it includes 38 guest rooms and 12 two- and three-bedroom villas, plus private cottages and estates. A major refurbishment starting next September will include the addition of 30 rooms, a spa and three new tennis courts.
