The Scotsman Hotel group buys Paris hotel

The Scotsman Hotel group has bought the four-star Hôtel de la Trémoille in Paris. The 112-bedroom hotel, just off the Champs Elysées, was sold by agent Christie & Co, who were acting on behalf of the investment firm Highgate.

Chicago hotel joins consortium

The Whitehall Hotel in Chicago has joined the Small Luxury Hotels of the World consortium. It has meeting suites for up to 75 people and a fitness centre. The consortium has 256 hotels worldwide.

Hilton opens again in China

Hilton has opened its fourth hotel in China. The Hilton Dalian is part of the Chang Jiang Plaza in Dailan. It has 122 bedrooms, two restaurants, a lounge bar and a business centre.

Nude expands

Nude, a Dublin organic fast-food restaurant, opens its second branch in the city on 11 September. Nude sells wraps, sandwiches, and juices with an average bill of IR£5 (£3.91). A third branch is due to open before Christmas.

Radisson signs Bahrain agreement

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts has signed a long-term agreement to manage The Diplomat hotel in Manama, Bahrain. It has 246 bedrooms, seven restaurants and bars and a health club.

Five of the best

The US publication HOTELS has named its five best hotel restaurants of the decade. They are Restaurant Petrus at the Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong; Hotel Georges Blanc in Vonnas, France; Le Louis XV at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco; Jean-Georges at the Trump International Hotel & Towers in New York City and Le Cirque 2000 at the New York Palace Hotel.
