Surrey hotel Brooklands adds 11 new bedrooms
The Brooklands hotel in Weybridge, Surrey, has opened 11 new bedrooms and renamed four of its super suites, almost 12 months since the property was sold.
The hotel, which stands on the site of the birthplace of British motorsport, now has 131 bedrooms, with many overlooking the neighbouring Mercedes-Benz World race track.
The new names of the four super suites take their cues from famous racing car drivers and and motorcycle riders, including Kay Petre, Noel Pope, Selwyn Edge and Percy Lambert.
Brooklands is expected to benefit from increased demand as a result of a £4.68m grant that was recently awarded to the neighbouring Brooklands Museum for its long-term Brooklands Aircraft Factory & Race Track Revival Project.
The freehold of the hotel, which originally opened in 2010, was sold in April 2014 to an affiliate of Bestford Capital and Westmont Hospitality Group, off a guide price in excess of £20m by property agents Colliers International.
It features the 1907 restaurant and grill, a spa, and nine conference rooms with capacity for 220 people.
