Travelodge launches major recruitment drive to meet growth aspirations
Travelodge has begun a large scale recruitment drive as it plans to open 10 new hotels by 2016.
The budget hotel chain said it was seeking to fill 750 vacancies, a third of which would be positions at the new sites which include hotels at London Greenwich, Glasgow Queen Street and Poole Central.
To support its recruitment programme it has launched a careers website which includes vacancies in hotel manager, receptionist and housekeeping positions, alongside video testimonial.
In its results for the six months to July 2015, Travelodge chief executive Peter Gowers said that, having opened five hotels in the first half of the year, the group would open a further 45 over the next 24 months.
Referring to the recruitment drive Gowers said: "The hotel business is a place where you really can climb the career ladder and where your work can take you all over the world. Over the last few years at Travelodge we've helped more than 3,000 people get into work and more than 400 become hotel managers. The opportunities are out there. It's all about getting that first foot on the ladder."
