Two new two-stars but no new three-stars in Italian Michelin Guide
The Italian Michelin Guide 2016 results have been announced, with new two stars going to Peter Girtler of Gourmetstube Einhorn in Mules, and Giancarlo Perbellini (pictured) of Casa Perbellini, Verona.
There were also new one stars for Mario Affinita, at the Don Geppi restaurant at the Majestic Palace hotel in Sant'Agnello; and Massimo Viglione of Enoteca al Parlemento Achilli, Rome. Tokuyoshi in Milan also took a star, as did Antonio Guida at the Seta restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Milan.
Alessandro Dal Degan at the Tana Gourmet in Asiago won a star, as did Giuliano Baldessari at the Aqua Crua in Barbarano Vicentino, Veneto.
There were no new three-star sites, but all eight of the country's current three-Michelin-starred restaurants kept their stars, including the Piazza Duomo in Alba, Piedmonte; Da Vittorio in Brusaporto, Lombardy; Le Calandre in Rubano, Veneto; and Osteria Francescana from Massimo Bottura in Modena.
Chef Davide Scabin lost a star for Combal.zero in Rivoli, taking it down from two to one.
There are 334 Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy, including eight three-stars, 38 two-stars and 288 one-stars.
