The identity of the man who fell to his death from D&D London's Coq d'Argent restaurant in London's Bank area last week has been revealed as Mike Halligan, aged 29 from Dublin.
Halligan, who worked at Vodafone Ireland and was studying a part-time business computing degree at Dublin Business School, was on holiday in the capital when he fell, according to reports.
City of London police confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious, although an inquest into what happened is expected to open next month.
Halligan fell from the 80-foot-high platform just after 4pm on 17 January, and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and the City of London police soon after. He became the sixth person to fall from the platform since 2007, and was the latest to do so following food blogger Wilkes McDermid, who wrote a tragic final blogpost explaining his actions before disappearing and falling to his death in February 2015.
Coq d'Argent was cleared of any wrongdoing after McDermid's death, and recognised by the coroner Dr Ray Palmer for its efforts to stop similar incidents, including installing six-foot-high fences and instructing security guards to question people lingering in the area on their own.
In response to Halligan's death, Vodafone released a statement, saying: "Vodafone is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Michael Halligan, a Vodafone Ireland Retail employee, while on personal travel in the UK. Vodafone offers sincere condolences to Michael's family and friends. The company wants to respect the privacy and wishes of Michael's family and has no further comment."
A spokeswoman for D&D London declined to comment on Halligan's fall.
