Edwardian Hotels London to open Leicester Square Kitchen
Edwardian Hotels London is set to open Leicester Square Kitchen next month, a third sister restaurant to May Fair Kitchen and Monmouth Kitchen.
The 170-cover restaurant is opening 6 May at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire hotel, and will offer contemporary Mexican-Peruvian small plates, the latest addition to independent hospitality group Edwardian Hotels London's restaurant and bar portfolio.
The menu will offer Mexican-inspired dishes such as Mayan-spiced marinated chicken ensalada with cashews, black lime and sesame oil; and tiger prawn soft tacos with spicy papaya habanero salsa. The Peruvian influence comes through in dishes such as the robata-grilled, pisco-glazed smoked paprika ribs and lime. Desserts also draw on the flavours of the region, such as coconut, lime, guava and mango.
The drinks menu will offer a range of cocktails, including an Aztec negroni, blended with Maestro Dobel Humito tequila and bitters; and a chilli and lychee margarita which features Ilegal Joven mezcal, KwaiFeh lychee liqueur and green chilli and lime.
The restaurant will feature dark architectural wall sections, views over Leicester Square, and a bar with white glazed brick and a zinc top where guests can drink or dine from the taco bar. White marble tables of varying heights and leather butterfly chairs will also be a design feature alongside long benches with leather pads. Outside will be monochrome awnings, chairs and planters filled with shrubs and flowers.
Edwardian Hotels London, founded by Jasminder Singh in 1979, owns and operates 11 Radisson Blu Edwardian, London hotels in London and Manchester, the May Fair hotel and a collection of restaurant and bar brands. The company is also engaged in a major development in Leicester Square, incorporating a luxury lifestyle hotel, restaurants, bars, spa and cinemas.
Amir Jati, service excellence director for Edwardian Hotels London, said: "Leicester Square Kitchen joins our portfolio of ‘Kitchens' which includes Monmouth Kitchen and May Fair Kitchen. Like the others it offers an inventive mix of flavours offering the best contemporary shared dining with a menu that draws on the beautifully fresh, spicy flavours of Mexico and Peru."
