First BritishCharcuterie Awards to take place at BBC Countryfile Live

The first BritishCharcuterie Awards will be taking place at BBC Countryfile Live on 2 August.

The awards, which have been co-founded by food writer Henrietta Green and event organiser Charlotte Sharpe-Neil, will be held within the BritishCharcuterie tent at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

More than 400 products created by nearly 100 British charcuterie producers will be tasted and judged over nine classes in the awards by 33 judges.

Among the judges will be chefs, retailers and food experts including Prue Leith, Adam Handling, Ben Tish, David Lidgate, John Gower and Chris Galvin. The results will be announced at approximately 4pm on the day.

As well as the nine classes, which include soft and spreadable products, cured bacon and British regional products, there will also be a Champion of Champions product and a Champion of Champions Producer who performs well consistently over a number of classes.
