Daniel Moran named general manager of Kimpton Blythswood Square

Daniel Moran has been appointed general manager of the five-AA-star Kimpton Blythswood Square in Glasgow.

Moran (pictured centre) has more than 15 years' experience in the industry. He has joined the hotel from the Vignette Collection, where he was general manager of Hotel X Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, which he helped to launch in 2021.

Moran is originally from Glasgow and moved to Australia in 2015 to work in the JAPAC IHG team, where he was involved with InterContinental Adelaide and Holiday Inn Express Adelaide.

Moran said: "It feels like the perfect time to come back to Glasgow and join the team at Kimpton Blythswood Square. Glasgow is a special city, with an amazing atmosphere. I've enjoyed watching it develop from afar in recent years; the food scene continues to evolve, and it's increasingly become a destination for major events."

The 113-bedroom Kimpton Blythswood Square has undergone a seven-figure refurbishment and has reopened its spa facilities. It is part of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants under IHG Hotels & Resorts. IHG acquired the Kimpton brand, originally founded in San Francisco in 1981, in January 2015 and introduced it to the UK in 2018.
