London's Bloomsbury hotel announces new management appointments

Irish family-owned company the Doyle Collection has announced a new duo to head up the Bloomsbury, one of four luxury hotels it owns and operates in London.

Susanne Traudt Romero (pictured left) has been appointed general manager and will be supported by Marta Padron (pictured right) as her assistant general manager.

Traudt Romero joined the 153-bedroom hotel on Great Russell Street from South Place hotel, D&D London's property in the City of London.

She initially arrived at South Place as director of food and beverage prior to the hotel's opening in 2012 and worked her way up to hotel manager and then general manager. Romero is originally from Munich in Germany and moved to London in 2008 to join the Connaught hotel.

Padron has worked for the Doyle Collection for four years and has joined the Bloomsbury from sister hotel the Bristol in Bristol. She started her career with the Barcelo Hotel Group in her native Spain before moving to work for Occidental Hotels & Resorts in Mexico.

Traudt Romero said she is looking forward to welcoming back regulars and introducing the hotel to intentional guests as they return to London in the summer. "I have a true passion for both hotels and restaurants, and believe that when the two work in harmony, they can have a truly transformative impact on a neighbourhood like ours," she said.

The Doyle Collection's chief executive Pat King said: "We are delighted to welcome Susanne to the Doyle Collection team. Her experience working in top boutique and luxury hotels and restaurants across London make her an invaluable addition to the team at the Bloomsbury.

"Equally, I am so delighted to welcome Marta to London. Marta has an intimate understanding of our culture, our genuine commitment to exemplary hospitality and the importance we place on genuine, warm and personalised service, which sets us apart."

The Bloomsbury's sister properties in London include the Westbury, the Kensington and the Marylebone.
