Exclusive Collection sees rise in revenue boosted by golf and spa memberships

Hotel, spa, and golf club operator the Exclusive Collection saw a rise in revenue last year boosted by strong demand for its membership programmes.

The group owns nine properties including luxury hotels Pennyhill Park in Surrey, South Lodge in West Sussex, and the Manor House hotel in Chippenham.

Writing in its results, managing director Danny Pecorelli said membership across its two spas and the Manor House golf club had shown "very positive" growth during last year.

Demand from the meetings, conference and exhibitions market also remained strong across all its hotels.

Peccorelli said Exclusive Collection continued to invest in bedroom refurbishments across the group and accessible stair lifts had been added to the meeting rooms at Pennyhill Park and the Manor House.

Revenue for the year ended 2 April 2023 rose to £62.9m, up from £52.2m in the previous 12 months.

However, pre-tax profits dropped from £10.7m to £7.2m, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBIDTA) fell from £11.7m to £14.5m.

During the year, Exclusive Collection purchased 62-bedroom Ansty Hall in North Warwickshire from Macdonald Hotels to cater to a rise in demand from meetings and events clients in a central England location. The hotel is set to be integrated into the brand in summer 2024.

Last week's AA awards saw two of Exclusive Collection's restaurants awarded new AA rosettes. Ben Wilkinson at the Pass at South Lodge was awarded four AA rosettes while Steve Smith at the Latymer at Pennyhill Park gained the maximum five AA rosette rating.

Exclusive Collection's other hotels include Lainston House in Winchester, Royal Berkshire Hotel near Ascot, Fanhams Hall Hotel in Hertfordshire, and the Castle Inn pub with rooms in Castle Combe in the Cotswolds.
