Grease interceptors to be fitted in all restaurants
A Dartford MP has tabled an early day motion calling for grease interceptors to be fitted at all restaurants and fast-food outlets by law.
Howard Stoate (Labour) said the measure would "stop the tide of warm fat that clogs the sewer system". He estimated that more than 1,000 tonnes of fat swills through the sewers of Thames Water every year.
When it hardens and cools it can lead to blockages and flooding.
