The University of Kent: Hotel Franchise Tender

The University of Kent intends to develop a 150 bed mid-market hotel with conferencing facilities, subject to planning approval, at their Canterbury campus. Target markets for the hotel include; local, transient business and leisure; regional and national conferencing events; University generated training events; University generated individual demand. The intention is to attract as much non-University custom as possible. The University is considering branding the hotel with a well know brand that will assist in attracting bookings and indicate to the market the services the hotel will be providing and the standard thereof. The University intends to operate the hotel with in-house, experienced, personnel and is solely requesting a licensing or franchise agreement and wishes to exclude proposals for management contracts.
