Bolton's Last Drop hotel sells for £4.25m

The 128-bedroom Mercure Bolton Last Drop Village hotel and spa has been sold off the guide price of £4.25m to an undisclosed buyer.

Christie + Co acted for Amaris Hospitality in an off-market sales process. The property agent described the buyer as "one of the UK's largest private property development groups", but was unable to confirm its name.

The hotel will remain open and will continue to trade under the Mercure brand. It offers 14 conference and meeting rooms for more than 700 guests.

He added: "In addition to the facilities and geographical location, the hotel sits in an extensive site which will allow the new owner to consider future growth and development."
