Center Parcs puts £10m into premium accommodation

Holiday village operator Center Parcs is moving upmarket with a £10m expansion plan to extend premium accommodation facilities at its Sherwood and Elveden Forest sites.

Center Parcs plans to build 10 four-bedroom exclusive villas on the sites in Nottinghamshire and Suffolk, and to convert 58 standard villas to executive villas.

In addition, a family-orientated raft ride will be added to the subtropical swimming paradise at Sherwood Forest. The site will also get six new treatment rooms in the Aqua Sana Spa.

Work will be completed at the end of the summer and is expected to add £500,000 before tax to profits in 2006.

This is despite the operator warning of poorer-than-expected trading figures for 2004-05, which it will release in July.

Center Parcs is part funding the project along with its landlord, Sun Capital.
