Leicester hotel owner buys Warrington country house hotel

The Rhinewood Country House hotel in Warrington, Cheshire, has been sold to Shaheen Iqbal, owner of the Hermitage Park hotel in Coleville, near Leicester.

The Rhinewood has a semi-rural location in the village of Glazebrook, a suburb of Warrington, where it sits in 2.6 acres of grounds.

Facilities include 32 en-suite bedrooms, the Sugarfields restaurant and bar, which can each seat around 70 customers, and two function rooms to accommodate 150 and 50 delegates.

There is also a managers' flat on the second floor comprising three double bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and an office.

Outside, there is a landscaped residents' garden, parking for 120 cars, and a lawned area where marquees can be erected when needed.

The business, which reported a £833,848 turnover for the year ended October 2007, will be run under management.

The Manchester office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £1.85m
