At Macdonald Hotels our Managers are allowed to manage, our Chefs are encouraged to create and our teams all have the opportunity to genuinely influence the overall guest experience. We provide ongoing training and development support at every step of your career journey with us, including:

• Chefs Development Scheme - to equip trainee chefs with the complete raft of kitchen skills enabling them to progress through the ranks.

• Team Manager Designate Scheme - a modular programme designed to cover the wide ranging responsibilities of a Head of Department.

• NVQs / SVQs - utilising college links to provide on and off-job training supported by personal development planning and mentoring sessions to develop rounded skill sets and achieve recognised qualifications.

Reward & Recognition In conjunction with our vision and values, we reward star performers in each hotel on a monthly basis. Employees are recognised by the team and receive a 'super cheque' which they can spend at one of over 40 retail outlets. The programme recognises a variety of achievements based on our values - for example - an innovative idea, integrity at work amongst colleagues and/or guests or for achieving results.

A recommendation by a current employee speaks volumes so we also involve our employees in our recruitment strategy. Employees are rewarded if a friend or a family member who they recommend becomes an employee through our talent spotting initiative.
