Mid-market hotel to be developed at Royal Arsenal Riverside
A 130-bedroom, mid-market hotel is to be developed at one of the UK's largest regeneration sites, Royal Arsenal Riverside in Woolwich, south-east London.
Investor developer Key Homes Group has acquired the site, where it intends to build and open the hotel under a well-known brand by spring 2013.
The hotel, which will operate under a franchise agreement, will form part of Berkeley Homes' regeneration site on the riverside in Woolwich, where 1,750 homes have already been built, alongside a gym, Young's gastropub, museum and café/delicatessen.
Rafi Patel of Key Homes Group said that Royal Arsenal Riverside was the perfect location for a quality mid-market hotel. "The development itself has an established, welcoming ambience and the superb transport links - including railway station, DLR and Thames Clipper services as well as the forthcoming Crossrail project - mean that it is ideally located for both business travellers and tourists looking for quick access to Canary Wharf, the City and West End."
Key Homes Group currently has several other London hotels in the pipeline, including the Holiday Inn Docklands close to Canary Wharf, Holiday Inn in Barking and a Park Inn by Radisson in Wembley.
