Rezidor CEO Kurt Ritter to stay on until 2015

Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of the Rezidor hotel group, has had his employment agreement extended until 2015.

Ritter first took on the role in 1989 and brought the group's portfolio of hotels to more than 400 properties, with almost 90,000 rooms across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

His first position was assistant manager at the Hotel Bellevue Palace in Bern. He then held a variety of positions at Ramada and Radisson, and most recently signed a worldwide license agreement with the Italian fashion house Missoni, to develop and operate a lifestyle hotel brand of the same name.

Hubert Joly, chairman of Rezidor's board of directors said: ""Kurt Ritter has played a critical role in making Rezidor what it is today. His leadership will be key to drive the profitable growth of Rezidor over the next several years, including by leveraging the combined strengths of Rezidor and Carlson."

The Rezidor Hotel Group features a portfolio of more than 400 hotels with 87,800 rooms in over 60 countries. It operates the brands Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
