Seaham Hall hotel moves to Von Essen's new Metropolitan set
Seaham Hall Hotel in County Durham has been repositioned as one of Von Essen's newly-established Metropolitan hotels.
The 19-bedroom, five-star hotel moves from the company's Country set to join Von Essen's Forbury hotel in Reading and the soon-to-launch Hotel Verta in Battersea, London, in the growing Metropolitan set of hotels.
The Metropolitan set is one of five collections of hotels owned and operated by Von Essen, alongside its Classic, Country, Family and Continental sets.
Von Essen has moved Seaham Hall, which is situated on a cliff top overlooking the sea, into the Metropolitan set as it is a contemporary property with a strong business focus, like the Forbury and Verta, and very different from the other hotels in the Country set which tend to offer an intimate, cosy, rural environment.
With the opening of Verta in late summer 2010, Von Essen will have 30 hotels in the UK and one in France.
