The House Collection of boutique hotels launches in Ely with Poets House
The first in a new group of boutique hotels called The House Collection has opened in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
The hotel, housed in three neighbouring Grade II listed properties built in the early 1900s, will be the first of a group of small hotels with a maximum of 45 bedrooms, featuring a signature style of intimate luxury and comfort with a stylish modern edge.
David Toulson-Burke, managing director of the House Collection, said he has been "thrilled" at the warm welcome received at the hotel from the local community. "Prior to opening, we've been doing a brisk trade with much interest in overnight breaks and restaurant bookings as well as corporate events, private celebrations and weddings."
A second 15-bedroom hotel in The House Collection - Paddocks House - will open in a 17th century country house between Cambridge and Newmarket, in June.
The House Collection has been launched by three former members of the senior management team at legendary golfing hotel, the Belfry in Warwickshire - David Toulson-Burke, Ian Cross and Jonathan Baker, with funding from Eastern Counties Finance.
