Website to boost hotel development launched

A new website designed to boost hotel development in the South-east has been launched.

The new website, www.hotel-investment.co.uk, aims to showcase the best hotel development opportunities in the area, highlight commercially viable sites and direct developers to useful industry contacts.

Leanne Marr, development manager at Tourism South East (TSE), said: "The South-east is one of the most buoyant areas of hotel demand in the UK, founded upon strong economic growth, proximity to London, excellent communications and transport links.

"We hope the new website will act as a tool for developers to gain quick and efficient information resulting in additional market growth," added Marr.

Tourism in the area generates more than £10b per annum and research undertaken by TSE has recognised the need for hotel development to keep up with this demand.

The website has received more than 13,000 hits to date and was launched at a seminar in Hampshire.
