Three Horseshoes and Boys Hall among new additions to Michelin Guide

Twelve restaurants, including Margot Henderson's the Three Horseshoes in Somerset and Boys Hall in Kent, have been added to the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland's selection this month.

The red book updates its recommendations monthly based on its inspector's travels, with any new additions highlighted with a ‘New' symbol.

It will not be confirmed if the additions will receive a Michelin star, Bib Gourmand, or other award until the next formal Michelin Guide ceremony, which is likely to be early next year.

Henderson, who opened London's acclaimed Rochelle Canteen with Melanie Arnold, launched the Three Horseshoes in a restored 17th century inn in the village of Batcombe in April. It was praised by the guide for its "unfussy, tasty cooking" and dishes including rabbit pie and crumbed pig's head.

Michelin said Boys Hall (pictured) occupied a "charming old house" and served "great" Kent wines to pair with the food. The boutique hotel and restaurant occupies a restored manor and was relaunched in Ashford by husband-and-wife Kristie and Bradley Lomas in 2022.

Other new additions included the Tamil Prince pub in London, which serves sharing plates of Indian food and was created by former Roti King chef Prince Durairaj and ex-JKS Restaurants manager Glen Leeson.

Michelin also praised tiny eight-seat chef's table restaurant Argile in Edinburgh, which sees chef Jack Montgomery talk guests through his six-course menu, and there was recognition for 8 by Andrew Sheridan, which recently relocated from Birmingham to Liverpool.

Other hotel restaurants featured included Station Road at the Lovat Hotel at the gateway to Loch Ness, which uses foraged ingredients and Highland produce. Dilsk within Drake's hotel on Brighton seafront was praised by Michelin for serving "the delicious, red-brown seaweed" from which the restaurant takes its name.
