Chef Paul Foster closes London restaurant GrassFed

Paul Foster's first London restaurant, GrassFed in Camden, has closed after seven months of trading.

A spokesperson for the restaurant confirmed the closure but did not provide a press statement outlining the reasons behind the decision.

The 50-cover restaurant opened last August serving all cuts of grass-fed beef, ranging from beef hotdogs to beef ribs served on the bone.

At the time of the launch, Foster said: "This is something I've wanted to do for a long time. It won't be a run-of-the-mill steak restaurant with chips and peppercorn sauce, I want to showcase the best of British produce and bring something different to this segment of the market. We're using high-end ingredients and serving them in an approachable environment at a fair price point."

The chef opened his first restaurant Salt in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2017, securing a Michelin star less than a year after its launch and the Newcomer of the Year Catey in 2019.

Salt lost its Michelin star in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2024 and is due to swap its tasting menu offering for a small sharing plates set-up from 10 April.
