Perch Pizza to take over Kenny Tutt's Bayside Social site

Sussex café-restaurant brand Perch is set to relaunch the former Bayside Social site on Worthing seafront as Perch Pizza.

Bayside Social, which opened in 2021 and was operated by 2018 MasterChef winner Kenny Tutt, closed last month due to rising costs.

Drawing inspiration from Perch's Lancing venue's ‘pizza on the beach' theme, the new opening will be a laid-back neighbourhood pizza restaurant. Trading 9am-9pm, seven days a week and 364 days a year, the venue is hoped to launch in mid-June, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Alexander Coombes, managing director of Perch, said: "We can't wait to enhance the already warm, family-friendly vibe and delectable food and drink selection at Worthing's East Beach.

"A massive shoutout to Kenny for his invaluable support; we're overjoyed to know he'll continue pushing the Worthing food scene forward."

Perch was founded in August 2015 when Coombes and his team opened the Lancing restaurant. Since then, the team has opened a second venue in Eastbourne's Prince's Park in March 2020 and completed a full renovation of the Southern Pavilion building at the end of Worthing Pier, which opened in April 2022.
