‘The end of this Journey means the start of another': Restaurant Journey announces closure

The Michelin Guide-listed Restaurant Journey in Cheltenham is set to close after two years of trading as the owners seek a "better work-life balance".

The restaurant offered six- and 12-course tasting menus from chef patron Jeff Lewis, who previously trained at the two-Michelin-starred Ynyshir near Snowdonia National Park and later worked at the three-Michelin-starred Fat Duck in Bray.

The menu was inspired by Jeff and his wife and general manager Kenni's travels abroad.

It featured dishes such as pan-Asian chilli crab, Japanese bluefin akami, and lobster risotto.

Journey was added to the Michelin Guide in June 2023 for "putting the fun into fine dining".

However, the restaurant revealed in an Instagram post it will be holding its last service on 29 June.

Jeff and Kenni said: "It's obviously not been an easy decision to make whilst at the top of our game, but timing is everything. With so many ideas and projects to fulfil outside of the restaurant, we cannot be in two places at once and have decided to focus on opportunities that allow us a better work-life balance and to continue our passion for travel, food and wine without the obvious restrictions of the restaurant commitment!
