Columbo Group to open third Blues Kitchen in Brixton

London-based bar and restaurant company the Columbo Group is to open its third Blues Kitchen, in Brixton, on the site of the former Electric Social.

The new venue is set to open in autumn this year, after renovation into the Blues Kitchen style. It will be the third site for the brand after the original in Camden, which opened in 2009, and the Shoreditch location, which opened in 2014.

The brand offers a menu inspired by traditional Texan barbecues, and includes a wide selection of US-style bourbons. It also features a dance floor and stage area to host live music every evening.

Columbo Group founder Steve Ball (pictured) said that Brixton was an exciting place for restaurants, bars and clubs. He added: "We're thrilled to be opening our third Blues Kitchen site here. The lively mix of late night music and authentic BBQ has been a great success in both Camden and Shoreditch and I look forward to bringing the party down south to Brixton."

Including the new Brixton site, the Columbo Group portfolio comprises eight bars, restaurants and clubs around the capital, including Paradise by Way of Kensal Green, and the Nest in Dalston.
