Operators sought for new Midlands restaurant quarter
A new restaurant quarter is set to be created at the one million sq ft Kingfisher shopping centre in Redditch, West Midlands.
Property agent Davis Coffer Lyons has been appointed to find operators for four new restaurant units, from 3,200sq ft to 7,500sq ft, available to let from 2013. All four will be located at main mall level, below a seven-screen Apollo cinema.
The Kingfisher Centre is preparing for a refurbishment of its prime fashion mall and the introduction of a family dining area, following Capital & Regional's acquisition of the centre in May 2012.
The retail and leisure investment company, with its partner, Oaktree Capital Management, bought the mall from clients of Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.
Anchor retailers include Debenhams, M&S, Primark, BHS, Next, Arcadia and TK Maxx. The centre produces net rental income of £11m and has a weekly footfall of approximately 185,000 and £532m available spend in the core catchment.
Existing restaurant and cafe tenants include: Caffè Nero, Costa, Cornish Connection, Delight Coffee House, Greggs, Jessica's Sweets, McDonald's, Napoleon Cafe, Muffin Break, Druckers Vienna Patisserie, Three Crooks, Subway, Nesta Coffee Shop, and Esquires Coffee House.
