Welsh cliff-top tea rooms sold after 33 years

Thomas's Tea Rooms on the Gower Peninsula has changed hands.

Great Welsh Café series.

The café was acquired 33 years ago by Rhona Thomas after she had worked there for 10 years.

The whitewashed cottage, which is near a National Trust Visitor Centre, can seat 96 customers indoors and another 74 in the tea gardens. Owners' accommodation includes three reception rooms and five bedrooms.

New owners Paul Newbury and Sue Muddeman have renamed the business The Bay and intend to build up its daytime trade and open in the evenings.

The Bristol office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £550,000.
