Yummy Pubs secures Hammersmith site for first in seafood concept roll out

Yummy Pubs has secured a site in London's Hammersmith to open Faber, a seafood concept that it plans to roll out over the next five years.

The group, which operates Somers Town Coffee House in London's Euston and the Victoria in Hackney, is to take on the Villagio restaurant site for the new concept which it hopes will be the first in a pipeline of sites it is looking to open, working with Christie & Co.

Last year Yummy Pubs sold its first site, the Wiremill near Lingfield in Surrey, to independent family brewer Hall & Woodhouse. After the sale Tim Foster and Jason Rowlands left the business, leaving co-founder Anthony Pender to run the group.

Addressing the acquisition of the new site, Pender said: "We're very excited to announce that we have created a new British seafood restaurant concept as part of our Yummy Pub Collection, and we will be working alongside Christie & Co to obtain a pipeline of sites to roll out the concept over the next five years. The character and composition of this property in Hammersmith makes it the perfect pilot site and we look forward to bringing the new restaurant to life."

The deal was brokered by David Wilson, associate director at Christie & Co's. He added: "We are delighted to have secured Anthony Pender and Yummy Pub Company as the new tenant for this prime restaurant site and can't wait to see it turned into the new ‘fresh fish for all' restaurant concept, Faber.

"This sale is the latest transaction we have completed with Yummy Pub Company, following the disposals of the Gorringe Park in Tooting and the Wiremill in Lingfield last year, and we look forward to working with them on future deals."
