Caterway continues overseas expansion

Nottinghamshire-based wholesale catering and sundries business, Caterway, is set to expand its overseas operations following a £100,000 finance agreement from Santander Corporate & Commercial. The loan has been backed by the Government's Enterprise Finance Guarantee.

Caterway runs two wholesale warehouses in Nottingham and Leeds providing supplies and equipment, from heavy duty kitchen equipment to chip forks, to the fast-food industry.

Last year, they set up a warehouse in Alicante, Spain, to cater to the significant ex-pat community on the Costa Blanca. The funding from Santander will allow the business to invest in this arm of the business.

Rob Atkinson, managing director of Caterway, said: "After many years of growth, we are delighted to be continuing the pattern and focusing our attention on the Spanish operation. The new funding will allow us to invest in the Alicante warehouse and start to provide more services to the ex-pat community on the Costa Blanca. It's wonderful to be working with a banking partner that understands our business and wants to help us reach our growth ambitions."

Jon Bennett, relationship director for Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: "We are pleased to have been able to support Caterway with the expansion of their business and the investment into their Spanish operation. Caterway is a well-known and important supplier to the fast food industry and, having worked with them for many years, we are pleased to be continuing to support their expansion plans"
