One way of cashing in on National Chip Week next month is to spice up the spuds, according to seasoning specialist Schwartz for Chef.

Citing findings from retail analyst TNS that spicy foods have become more popular over the past 50 years and an online survey that found that 73% of consumers love the taste of chips most, Schwartz for Chef suggests sprinkling seasonings over chips before serving.

To help operators offer a "cheeky chip menu" of different flavours with different dishes or chips with spicy dips, Schwartz for Chefs is offering six readers 325g tubs of both its Blackened Cajun and Piri Piri seasonings.
